Antigrav Racing Championship Review

Antigrav Racing Championship

Now here is a game that is worth the price you pay for it for sheer beauty. Although Antigrav Racing Championship is a typical racer, it offers a lot for the player to look at.

The gameplay is as straight-forward as it gets. You have your racer, you have your track, away you go. You have your choice of 8 different racers and can race on 20 different tracks. The controls are easy as well. You steer with the joystick, the right trigger is acceleration and left is brake. The right and left buttons are to strafe left or right (no shooting here though, just for sharp turns) and the buttons or direction pad to look around. The only problem I had with this game is one that is often prevalent with a lot of racers. The vehicles are difficult to control and you will find yourself running into other cars or walls.

The graphics are simply unbelievable. You can tell a lot of work went into the game from this point of view. Something you would expect from a racing game you would purchase in the store. The racers are also well done as is the track. But the best part of the game graphics wise is the background. This is where the developers shine. There is so much detail here that it almost detracts from the game itself.

I found the sound to be a little on the low side for my tastes. I almost had to turn the sound up on my stereo to be able to hear the racers. But we can’t have it all.

All told, this is an excellent game for just strict racing and will bring enjoyment to even some of the most die-hard racing fans. Or, at least try the demo. It’s only good for one race on the track but you can at least get a feel for the game itself.
