Impossible Shoota

Impossible Shoota comes to you from the creators of Neo Terra and Gum Drop Celestial Frontier.

Impossible Shoota is a top down dual stick space shooter, in which you have to take on what appears to be an endless stream of differing types and strengths of enemy ships.

Everything about this game is kept nice and simple, making it a real pick up and go type of game. The controls consist as you would expect of the left thumbstick to move and the right to shoot. The HUD is straightforward enough too, consisting of your current weapon level, survival timer and the number of enemies left.

From what I could tell, the maximum weapon level was five and each time you take a hit you drop a weapon level, but you are able to increase a weapon level by killing three enemies

The health system that Impossible Shoota uses is very unique for this type of game, as it works in the same way as most FPS do nowadays, where too many hits in a short period of time means death, but you are able to get back to normal health over time. Pretty cool if you ask me.

One major downside for me was the lack of global score boards, which in my opinion should be available in all XBLIG’s that offer highscores.

Other than that there isn’t really much to tell, except that the menu music is really irritating! The best score I managed to get was 6:32, so yeah, I’m not very good, but it was still fairly good fun.
