IncaBlocks Review

This really is a difficult game to put up a review on. I am enjoying the game itself but I’m not sure that it’s for everyone. This tetris-like game for 1-4 players can be very satisfying if you are into puzzles.

This is a very unique puzzle game. It is described as a board game on the marketplace and I guess that could be said but I would be more inclined to call it a puzzler. The object of the game is to take blocks and try to fit them on the board. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. The trick to the game is that the block you place must be touching one of your previously played blocks and cannot leave a space. These rules make this a very difficult game to play.

The graphics are pretty decent for this game. More so than you’d expect. You can rotate the game board almost 360 degrees as well as the pieces in order to fit them into their places more easily. You even have a help button if you get stuck. Unfortunately, the background pretty much just stays the same. Of course, I was so engrossed on the board and trying to fit the pieces into their spots that I didn’t really notice if there were different background. The only thing I would suggest to the developers for the future is to possible allow a much closer view of the board for those that may need it.

As far as the music is concerned, I was not too impressed. This would be a game to play with your own music on in the background.

Overall, I’d say get this game but only if you enjoy this type of challenge. You won’t find any shooters or action here. Just a mind game that will make you think. If you like chess, you’ll like this game.
