The Towers of Cedrick is the next game that I am reviewing as a random choice,
The description for The Towers of Cedrick reads:
“Can you reach the sixth tower and save the Universe? Six increasingly difficult towers to solve under the watchful gaze of anthropomorphosized fruit and vegetables. The classic game of The Towers of Hanoi comes to XNA with the extra twist of Six anthropomorphosized deity’s, unusual audio accompaniment, and if you can hack it, an ending that quite frankly defies all rational explanation.”
Firstly, perhaps they mean anthropomorphized (without the additional pho)? Anthropomorphic according to the Oxford dictionary means:
Anyway, The Towers of Cedrick as the description says is based on the game called Towers of Hanoi or sometimes called The Towers of Brahma. The game consists of three rods and a number of different sized disks with a hole in the middle, enabling them to be slid onto the rods. The objective of the game is to move the entire stack of disks to one of the other rods whilst obeying the following simple rules:
The anthropomorphic fruit and vegetables are somewhat entertaining and some of their names did give me a bit of a chuckle, such as Cedrick P Jones (the Lettuce) and Sargeant Pepper and his Apricot Mistress!
The way that I understood it is that the game consists of three modes, which are :
Arcade –you are given a stack of disks that have to be moved to another rod.
Bi Towers – you are given stacks of disks of different colours must place the disks of the same colour on a different stack.
Tri Towers – you are given stacks of disks of three different colours. Additionally each rod is a different colour and you must place each stack of a particular colour on a rod of a different colour.
All in all, a fun little game if you’ve got the patience for it which I haven’t.
